Client details stay out of these on purpose. Confidentiality obligations mean the internal mechanics are not mine to publish, so what follows is the shape of the problem and the outcome.
A long term care operator cannot pause. Every facility switching to a new electronic health record has residents in beds that day and staff who need the system working on the first shift. Care carried on throughout, at every site, across every cutover.
Scale was the real problem. More than fifty implementations ran at once across the United States and Canada, each with its own site conditions, its own staff, and its own go live date. I owned delivery from kickoff through configuration, data migration, integrations, and go live, and I was the single point of contact for customer teams, clinical leaders, and executives.
Insurance data does not get to be approximately correct. A migration that loses integrity somewhere in the middle stops being a technical problem and becomes a claims problem and a regulatory one.
Fifty plus organization databases moved to Oracle Cloud with integrity intact and minimal downtime, alongside a RedHat 5 to RedHat 8 platform migration and the decommissioning of legacy servers. I chaired the executive steering meetings and ran portfolio level risk reviews against central project office guidelines, so the people carrying the risk saw it before it reached them.
Two product lines running in parallel across cross functional teams, sharing a dependency on the same engineers. Coordinated delivery of an e payment application and the enhancement of a background checks solution for loan applicants.
I owned the risk log and the work breakdown structure, and ran the full ceremony cycle so that a dependency surfacing in one team reached the other before it cost a sprint.
Complexity coming into order. That is the entire job, and these are the numbers behind it.
